WHAT IS ZOROASTRIANISM

Zoroastrianism is one the oldest religions in the world. It is definitely one of the first monotheist religions. It was founded by Zoroaster and it believes in one God, Ahura Mazda. There are very few Zoroastrians in the world today but it still holds an important place. A large part of their population is divided between Iran and India. Environmentally friendly ways to see Vienna

Vienna can be experienced in a variety of ways – on foot, by Citybike, on skates, or by boat. From the city center to the Donau Auen National Park there are always new ways to see the city. Exploring Vienna on foot is particularly enjoyable for a variety of reasons, first and foremost because Vienna is a green city – from the parks along the Ringstrasse boulevard to the green spaces of the Augarten or the Prater. And if fatigue sets in, the nearest subway, tram, or bus stop is never far away.

Weekend Trips: Carinthia’s Woerthersee

“Ein Schloss am Woerthersee (A castle on lake Woerthersee)” was the title of a popular TV series on Austrian television. Although the story was completely fictitious, the Imperial yellow Renaissance castle where it was filmed still stands in the elegant resort of Velden today. Previously a hotel, accommodating such illustrious guests as the Duke of Windsor, Princess Soraya and Hollywood star Kirk Douglas, Velden’s Schloss now belongs to multimillionaire Gunter Sachs.

They have shared with me the ups and downs about life in Vienna and their lives as Expats in general.

Our Famous Guest - Mark Twain's Stay In Vienna

Surprised by the news of his recent death in late 1897, Mark Twain, the great American humorist, responded with humor, telling Viennese journalists that "The report of my death (is) grossly exaggerated". Evidently, the New York World telegraphed a Viennese journalist to verify Twain's status: "If Mark Twain very ill, 500 words, if dead 1,000".*

Irreverent Scribbles - Going on a Summer Holiday

"What do you mean you don't know what your Home Leave plans are yet?" one expat said to another recently. "Don't you know that flights have to be booked months in advance?" piped up another. "It's probably too late now. You could be stuck here all summer." "We have had our tickets for ages, since January in fact! They were booked the minute we got back from Christmas leave! " said a third.
