|
|
Can anyone suggest where to look for companies who hire English speaking only employee's in Vorarlberg? Preferably one who will sponsor me for a Visa.
I did check the classifieds section but all of the job postings are for Vienna. If I can find a job I will be moving in with my BF in Bludenz, Vorarlberg.
Any suggestions?
Thanks! |

| Try Der Standard website, monster.at , and job agencies. I found-find finding an English speaking job even in Wien hard. I wish you well. |

Finding an English speaking job is tricky enough -- getting them to sponsor you for a visa is going to be quite the uphill battle.
Good luck..
I would definitely look in Vienna to start. Lots of NGOs are based out of this city and operate in English.
More than likely though your coworkers will be talking German amongst themselves in the office. |

Thanks Mike. I understand the uphill battle. Was kinda praying like mad that I could get an English job while learning my German in the meantime.
Btw... "NGO"?
Thanks! |

I went that route Eva. I looked for over a year applying non stop for jobs only to get rejections.
Finally through the personal connections of my girlfriend I was able to find a company willing to hire me and do the visa paperwork. Government rejected the visa.
After that my girlfriend and I decided to get married to skip the nonsense.
I really tried hard in my job search too and I hit a wall at every single turn. |

Also NGO stands for Non-governmental organization. They tend to operate in many lands and thus use English as a business language.
There are a lot of these in Vienna. |

| Eva, if you are able to get a residency permit through marrying your boyfriend, you probably would have a chance to support yourself for the year that it takes to get the work permission by working under the table. My hairdresser works out of her apartment in Vienna. Of course you would need to generate business by word of mouth but if your boyfriend is established in the area that might be possible. Also, I practiced English with kids (more like babysitting in English really) here for a few years charging €10/hr, which doesn't seem like much but considering its not taxed it's actually not bad! It just depends on how much your boyfriend is able to support you while you get your small business established. |
