|
|
I have about 7 ceiling and wall lamps to be hung in my new apartment and, averse to being bounced off the walls by high voltage, am looking for recommendations for an electrician who would be willing to undertake this work. If English-speaking, even better!
Anyone you can recommend? |

Hi,
A friend of mine is a qualified electrician. He is from England and has done electrical work for some other expats. Im sure he will be interested in some more work. Have you a contact number he can call you on?
Thanks
Mark |

Hi Mark,
I have had no reply from the first connection, Andreas Haas.
Do please let me know this English guy#s email or phone, and I will get in touch.
Best

In the absence of a reply, I am trying this number, from an earlier forum post:
Electro Weber
524 62 77
Neubaugasse
I will post a review here in this thread once they have done their work. |

Please do. I am also looking for someone to check and repair our electrics, as well as some tiling. Any feedback would be great |

| Update: Elektro Weber is to be highly recommended. Service in English, very flexible (and precise) with appointment timings. If anyone else is looking for very professional electrician services, I can recommend them. |

Can anyone let me know the prices per hour?
Mine was 40 Euro with the Rechnung, but together with the time for getting here, it was still too much for the work he has done. |

To get a qualified Electrician to show up for just 40 Euro sounds more than reasonable. Most people charge at least an hour and (40 an hour is really not much no matter how little they do.) |

No! What I am saying is 1 hour is the standard for most service people even if the job takes less time.
A switch in the living room, could be as simple as adding it to an existing outlet area, or as difficult as having to run it through walls.
Bottom line is 40 EURO is a pretty decent rate per hour. |

Hi it is rather interesting reading all the feed backs on electricians floating around,
To get an electrical or other trades person under 60-75 euro pr hr is really good due the fact that they pay around 45% tax and health insurance as well as the costs of running there business, also I have found that if you can only speak English in and around Vienna the Austrian trades people take his as a license to kill at max cost. Some examples I have came across, to fit dishwasher, time taken 7mins cost 450 euro, to assemble IKEA furniture 95 euro pr man pr hr with min 2 men! Other company charge around the same.
There are three company or English speaking trades people who do such work for a fair price ranging from 25-45 euro pr hr too of these trades people are from England and myself from New Zealand. We run our own businesses servicing the English speaking community. We have also our own contacts for other licensed trades people like electricians, plumbers, and other trades. Etc who we know are trades people and give very good service.
We find our pricing is good value for money and we supply all services.
Including electrical work light fitting for around 25-35 euro pr hr.
Check out the Services available section in Virtual Vienna classifieds.
I hope this is helpful

ahh, I have to arrange it without Rechnung, maybe it will be cheaper then.
You know we all pay taxes! Employees too and net net, we are all in the same boat - paying to Austrian state on av. 50% of our income. |
