WGKK coverage outside of Austria

I recently got sick while I was in the U.S. and I'm afraid my travel insurance isn't going to cover my ER visit. I'm covered in Austria under WGKK. Anyone know if they might reimburse some/all of my ER visit in the U.S.?

In my experience (with the doctor, not an ER visit), they pay a certain portion of what they would pay for the same thing in Austria-- but it's really not much.

I don't know what travel insurance you have but you might check to see if you have any travel coverage with your credit card.

Thanks for the info Viennamom. I guess a little reimbursement is better than nothing at all. I'll definitely check it out if the travel insurance doesn't cover it. I think the credit card only covers accident, not illness, but I should make sure.
