Hey guys. I'm really in the bloated stage of pregnancy, but I already find myself unbuttoning the top button of my pants Does anyone know of a shop selling maternity clothes, something like Mothercare in the UK selling both maternity and baby clothes? |

Great! Was worried that they'd be only old-fashioned stuff and that I'd be advised just to buy bigger sizes! You know, I think I may just be losing my perfect size 10 and start to balloon out, lol
Any more? |

hello there - when are you due? im also preggers - 18 weeks now. spend a lot of time looking for places for maternity clothers. unfortunately there's not much choice... best shop i've seen so far is: http://www.unterumstaenden.at/
their prices are very reasonable - not expensive.
i find the prices at C&A too high for the quality they offer... and H&M has strange sizes - really small or really big... quite disappointing...
also... if you're not a member already, u should sign up at the Vienna Babies Club : http://www.viennababiesclub.com/
good luck! |

Congrats Dutch Angel! I'm only 6 weeks, but I was already showing at 4! Could be twins?!!! We saw the gestational sac on the sonography, and nicknamed it the black hole!!!
I will definitely think about joining the VBC, thanks. I think there's a group for the south of Vienna, so not too far away. I guess I'll try it and see how it goes. |

Mothercare is over in Bratislva in the Aupark, a shopping center near the Austrian border.
Maternity clothes-- also check out the Mami Shop, Westbahnstr. 1 in Vienna (7th district.) Nice clothes and English is spoken. |

| There is another one on the Mariahilfer Strasse....its on the right side when you are walking from 1st district, not far from the first McD's thats on that side as well.....no idea of prices or anything else, but definitely sell maternity clothes. There used to be a mothercare right close to that shop actually, but it didnt last long which is a shame. |

Hi
Congratulations!
I am 13 weeks and bought some REALLY great maternity jeans with a stretchy waist from H&M. i dont think i will ever go back to wearing normal jeans after wearing these, they are that comfortable! the tops they do are a bit boring but the trousers and maternity bras are really useful.
there is a shop on gumpendorferstrasse, near the haus des meeres, that sells really fashionable maternity stuff at reasonable prices.
hope this helps

Thanks Lek, congratulations yourself! I tried the H&M on Mariahilferstr but didn't find any maternitywear- which one is it?
Truth is, though, I was passing through London and I spent quite a bit on maternity clothes from Dorothy Perkins and Mamas and Papas! There's such a big selection now that Spring's on its way (Although I did encounter slushy snow in Reumannplatz today- wtf?!!!).
In Vienna, the best place I've found IS Unter Umstaenden (Gumpendorferstrasse 60 not far from U3 Neubaugasse). I don't know if anyone has tested out Bebe in the 9th district? Apparently, they have maternity clothes from Esprit and other brands, and seem to have nice dresses there also. |

I live in the 7th and have been in the "new" renovated H&M which is just opposite Peek and Cloppenburg. I noticed a section for maternity there and its when you go inside, stay on the right side of the shop and keep going, its just before the escalator. They have some lovely tops for maternity, although it doesnt say "maternity section" which baffles me but anyway. They have some nice things, its not a huge section, and I didnt look close enough to see if they had trousers, but the tops were really nice. If you cant find the section, just ask them, they all speak english there anyway.
Another option is this website, never used it, but found it on the internet, might be worth looking at.

Pregnancy clothing is called Umstandsmode in German for those that might want to google for shops. |

For anyone still looking, I'd recommend combining a sightseeing trip to Bratislava with maternity clothes shopping at the Eurovea Gallery there. You can park there, I think Sundays are completely free from parking fees, but otherwise it doesn't seem expensive either. From the train station, it's just a short walk through the historical centre to the riverside. And if you're missing food from the UK, don't forget to stop at Marks & Sparks for soups and snacks! They also have plenty of cotton bras in a wide range of sizes...
