    Silvia,

Huntsville is really a nice place. I have several very good friends who are living there.

There is a strong German community there. It is where Werner von Braun lived for awhile. The Redstone Arsenal is there. Huge Boeing presence there along with a number of other technology companies. Think a lot of scientist and engineers.

It is in the hills so it is relatively cooler than Birmingham. Nice city all in all. If you need to get away Atlanta, Chattanooga, & the lakes of the TVA are all short drives.

Yeah I know you do have to have a car. Owning a gun is optional… 🙄

It is not the end of the earth. That is over in Mississippi …….. 😀

    Thanks Snowdog! 😀

I am going to be a DAC wife this round instead of an Army wife and soon to be Hubby is assigned to Redstone, so it is actually probably going to be no major problem done that, been there, know the routine. The house is in the Boondocks in a place called Harvest but I am actually looking forward to the quiet.

I was there on vacation June and The Tennessee valley is really lovely.

As I said I will be here often I am sure, especially if I need to rant .

    😉 :tic: 😯 😛

    Thank you Silvia!
My relocation and new life in Vienna was made so much easier because of VV.
I know i’m not alone when i say many of us would be so very lost without the site and you behind the scenes doing all of the gritty work.
All the very best in your new life.

    Silvia,

This news really a surprised to me and I am kinda sad to know that you are leaving Vienna! We would like to thank you for all the help and great job you did on this site and I still remembered the first time I joined the group, you invited my hubby and I to attend the gathering at the Indian Restaurant to meet with you and others!

Congratulations on the new life and hoping that you will have a safe trip back home and enjoy your new life. You deserves all the happiness :))

Take care and hope to see you here on VVN!

    Leaving you with this :

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Reading this part of your post made me think of the scene in “The Sound of Music” where the von Trapp family sings “So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, adieu”…

Now you have me singing it. But it is fun playing tourist! I have seen parts of Wien I never have before.
