I found out that Deutschakademie is not so bad. If anyone is looking for a school. The low price in Deutschakademie does not mean low quality π

I think Austria is not the place to learn German (and I am sorry if that upsets the locals).
I always try and explain by saying coming to Austria to learn German is like sending someone to Jamaica to learn English, meaning it’s thatdifferent…. π Once I say that, then they sort of understand how different the Austrian dialect is.
I could never love a phrase such as “Koun ma wos hΓΌfen?” as an Austrian phrase for shop assistants saying “Can I help you with something?”
These kinds of phrases always make me giggle inside because I tend to equate it as the equivalent of being in the deep south of the US or something. π

So true! Need some subtitles! π
Someone I know suggested watching TV regularly. So, I am trying this now:
Sometimes I understand like … 70% , and sometimes less than 5%. But I guess that also happened when I started watching English speaking movies without subtitles.
I know TV helped me! One day you get this thrill and realize you understood it all. And you really know you are there when someone asks you about a show you were watching and you can’t remember was it in German or your native language.
